From 11 to 15 August 2026, the beautiful medieval village of Campiglia Marittima will become a huge open-air theatre for five unforgettable evenings. The festival celebrates its 20th edition, bringing theatre, circus, music, street performances, visual art, illusion, juggling and fire shows into the historic streets and squares of the village. What makes ApritiBorgo so special is the setting. Instead of taking place inside a conventional theatre, performances are spread throughout the historic centre. Visitors can walk through ancient stone streets and suddenly discover a colourful performance, an unusual artistic installation or a live show around the next corner.
For 2026, the festival features 22 companies performing across 17 different performance spaces, with shows and double performances taking place during the five festival days.
The atmosphere is exactly what makes a Tuscan summer evening memorable: historic buildings, small piazzas, restaurants and cafés, music, performers and people enjoying the night together.
Art, Theatre and Something Unexpected
The festival is not only about theatre. The 2026 edition also includes a large outdoor art exhibition by artist Davide Dall’Osso, with monumental sculptures placed throughout the village. Visitors can discover giant horses, large faces and floating dancer figures as they explore Campiglia Marittima.
